Charitable Critque

Editor’s Note: The following letters are in response to Mark Shea’s article, “The Day the Free Press Committed Suicide.”

Dear Mark,

I am saving [this article] &#0151 making copies of it and handing it out at work and sending it to everyone I know around the globe. I'm also going to send it to every newspaper editor whose address I can get my hands on. You're a national treasure, bro. Please keep it up.

Dear Andy,

Thanks!

Mark

Bravo!

I have been a faithful reader of your material for several years now. Your column on the cowardice of the “Free Press” is masterful. Succinct, articulate, insightful and right on target. And charitable. That is the most wonderful asspect of all. You have admonished the sinner and instructed the ignorant and remained charitable. Clearly the Holy Spirit is working through you in this column. Please continue to write. My own railings so often lack the charity that you so clearly display.

Thank you and God bless you and your Family.

Dear Hugh,

Thanks for your kind words! Believe me, I'm not a model of charity many times.
