By Pavel Chichikov
Forty-one kopecks on my desk
The last from ‘91
Even big countries
Like small cattle
Can be driven into tight corners
And spent
Two fifteens
A ten and a one
Aluminum and brass –
Cheap coin
Small change
Engraved with ears of wheat –
Handful of metal
Cheap life, cheap death
These aren't symbols
They're lives
They're people without God
Anyone can take them
Nobody wants them
