Centipede

By Pavel Chichikov

Articulated stone, a polished wand with venom

Fifty pairs of legs scuffle in the leaves,

Animated toy or photons in array?

Bees collide and part, brains two pilots steering,

Crabapple in a courtyard, virginally red

Folds magenta crystals in mossy tourmaline

Narcissus leaning to an image of the Virgin

Tulip-yellow nectar serves an elfin celebration,

The garden is a crystal forty meters long

Who will turn and cut this glossy gem

Release the living insects frozen in the facets

Free the crystal lattice of the shining centipede?
