Against Secular Humanism

Dear Catholic Exchange:

I just wanted to say that your web site is wonderful. As a student at a college where the dominance of secular humanism as the only legitimate “faith” is prevalent, and at times overwhelming, it is helpful to have your site as a refuge.

Coupling practical advice and suggestions for the everyday life of a Catholic, with the intellectual justifications for our way of life, the Catholic Exchange surpasses my needs. It has found a permanent spot on my homepage. Thank you. Please continue your great work.

Dear Thomas:

Thank you for taking the time to share your thoughts with us. This kind of message really sustains us as we try to do a lot with minimal resources. It's a pleasure serving the young faithful at our nation's colleges and universities! Please spread the word about Catholic Exchange at Dartmouth.

God bless you,

A Carpool Car Poll

Dear Catholic Exchange:

Hopefully, I won't be the only one to complain but in the choices for cars (in the Catholic Exchange Viewer Poll) where is the 15-passenger van option? Or even the minivan option?

I know in the circles that I run in, it is the only thing available if you have more than 6 kids and is often the choice of open-to-life couples with only 2 or 3 but hoping for more!!

Ah, the joy of driving a vehicle bigger than almost everything on the road, short of an 18-wheeler. There is something majestic about it as I pull into the parking lot and watch my clan disembark like clowns at the circus: from the questioning looks (Must be a daycare!), to the quick glances (I must be counting wrong.), to the downright stares (Surely, they can't all be yours!).

I've got room for mine and a few of theirs and can still stow the soccer gear, 3 gallons of milk and enough floating socks and shoes on the floor for a few more!!

Put us down for one, large, white (with some great black trim, luggage rack, and stepup sides) 15 passenger van!

Thanks for all you do! You are in our children's prayers each evening!

In Christ,

Rachel Watkins

Dear Rachel:

Funny stuff!

I've added two choices: “Minivan” and “Enormo-Van.” I'd been meaning to add the “Minivan” option earlier but never got around to it.

Thanks for your feedback, and most especially, the prayers of your children. I'm genuinely moved.
