Can I Get a Witness?

Acts 1:8

But you shall receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you; and you shall be my witnesses in Jerusalem and in all Judea and Samaria and to the end of the earth.

If you’ve been confirmed then you’ve got character. The Catechism tells us that “like Baptism which it completes, Confirmation is given only once, for it too imprints on the soul an indelible spiritual mark, the ‘character,’ which is the sign that Jesus Christ has marked a Christian with the seal of his Spirit by clothing him with power from on high so that he may be his witness” (1305). Today, look for opportunities to be a witness for Christ. Is there someone you can pray for? Do you know of someone in need? Has someone at the office been devastated recently? Today may be the day to give an encouraging word or perform a kind deed. Draw on the power you have available to you and be a witness.
