What’s new? A fan of Catechismclass.com e-mailed us recently with this comment: “Catechismclass.com is the best thing to happen in Catholic Education since Saint Elizabeth Ann Seton.” That new enough for you?
You’ve undoubtedly seen in the Catholic press, heard on the Catholic Radio, or read on the Catholic Internet about the online religious e-education site causing so much comment among religious educators and students alike.
The project started out as a way for guilt ridden Catholic pastors to address the perennial problem of kids not showing up for Religious Education. No matter how good a program the parish offers, there’s always at least 10% of the kids which that program doesn’t reach. We wanted to create a mechanism whereby every pastor standing before St. Peter could honestly say: “I did my very best to make quality, orthodox religious education available to every one of those souls for which I was responsible (even the non-cooperative ones).”
We were up and running online for about twenty minutes when e-mails started pouring in from 93 different countries on six continents. Three Cardinals, several Bishops, a handful of Priests and thousands of parents wanted either to sign up or get more information. The single most requested item was a product we hadn’t even yet developed, an adult education program. Of course, we now have the adult (and R.C.I.A.) programs up and running.
Catechismclass.com currently offers four separate levels of lesson plans for young people: The Postulant, The Novice, The Professed, and The Apostle. Each subsequent level represents a transition deeper into our program. Based on your child's current grade level, they will experience a high-tech interactive, really fun, 24/7, religious education program designed specifically for their age group.
In addition, Catechismclass.com has released the much anticipated, highly requested, and very much in demand, online ADULT EDUCATION/RCIA program. We're sure you're going to find this experience not only guides you on your exploration of your Catholic Faith, but actually brings you to a deeper understanding of the simple complexity of Christ’s 2005 year old Church.
Classes at all levels start whenever you're ready. Once you're enrolled the process allows you the flexibility to keep up with the lessons of your choice, drop off when life is too hectic, and pick right up again without really missing a beat, any time. Because this entire program is Lectionary driven, Catechism based, it is always current, always relevant, and always in conformity with the Liturgical Year.
Catechismclass.com invites you to be part of the largest, international, web-based catechetical initiative for children and adults. Catechismclass.com offers an authentic, lectionary-driven, catechism-based, fully accountable, available 24/7, religious education program for every member of your family. Back in the late Sixties when our founder was a seminarian, a mandatory exercise was to teach C.C.D. A number of times he got into trouble because he agreed with parents and the kids themselves concerning the inadequacy of the 23 one hour sessions annually devoted to passing on the Catholic Faith in an atmosphere of multilevel antagonism. It took thirty-five years to get here, but now you can learn the Faith as it is presented weekly in the Bible (Lectionary) and the Catechism of the Catholic Church, any day of the week, any hour of the day and in the comfort of your own home. You don’t have to dress in a particular way. You can chew gum or any other food-stuff you choose. You don’t even have to sit up straight in your chair.
We’re especially pleased at the number of our clients who, wanting to be “good parishioners,” continue to go along with their parish program’s demands while signing-up for Catechismclass.com as a supplement, which insures that as parents they are doing absolutely everything they can to follow through with the commitment they made at the kids’ Baptisms. Back then they promised God that they would: “be the first and the best teachers of their kid in the ways of the [Catholic] Faith.”
We, too, are beginning to think that Catechismclass.com is the best thing to happen in Catholic Education since Saint Elizabeth Ann Seton. So, What’s new with you? Why not make it Catechismclass.com?
