(Jn. 1:36) And he (John the Baptist) looked at Jesus as He walked and said, "BEHOLD THE LAMB OF GOD."
In thinking about the Lamb of God, the apparition at Knock came to mind.
Here is an image:
A BRIEF ACCOUNT OF THE APPARITION
In 1879 the holy parish priest , Fr. Cavanaugh, at the church in Knock, Ireland found a space of time to offer 100 Masses for the Souls in Purgatory for whom he had a great concern. On the one hundredth day, on Thursday evening the 21st of August, Our Lady, St. Joseph and St. John the Evangelist appeared at the South gable of the Church at Knock.
Our Lady wore a large white cloak, fastened at the neck. Her hands and eyes were raised towards heaven, in a posture of prayer. On her head was a brilliant crown and where the crown fitted the brow, was a beautiful rose. On her right was St. Joseph, head bowed and turned slightly towards her as if paying her his respects. He wore white robes. On Our Lady's left was St. John the Evangelist, dressed as a bishop, with a book in his left hand and right hand raised as if preaching. His robes were also white.
Beside the figures and a little to the right in the centre of the gable was a large plain altar. On the altar stood a lamb, facing the West and behind the lamb a large cross stood upright. Angels hovered around the lamb for the duration of the Apparition which lasted for two hours and was witnessed by at least fifteen witnesses.

Several things come to mind. There is the LAMB upon the Altar of Sacrifice and over the altar is a cross. There is Our Lady looking heavenward in ecstasy for well does she know the glory of the Lamb. There is St. Joseph there to protect Our Lady and the Lamb, and the Church. There is St. John the beloved who stands for those in the Church who preach the Truth for the Lamb is The Truth. And there are the angels who are always adoring the Real Presence of Jesus Christ.
Another thought that comes to mind is that they are all in white and the passage from Revelation seems apropos: (Rev.7:14-15/17) These are they who have come out of the great tribulation and they have washed their robes and made them white in the Blood of the Lamb therefore are they before the throne of God…for the Lamb in the midst of the throne will be their Shepherd.

And since one picture is worth a thousand words, I would like to leave other images from which to dwell upon and consider. Ave Maria!
