Salutations,
I enjoyed your article “Bilbo, Frodo, and Relics” very much. I teach a Church History Class to high school Sophomores and I plan on using your article when we get to the time immediately before the Reformation. Your “ick” reminds me of St. Catherine's head and finger which are on display in Sienna. Also, I have a friend who told me that when we hold a relic, we hold something that will definitely be in heaven someday. (It will be interesting to see what the Resurrection of the Body will be like when the time comes.)
Thanks for all you do!
God bless you,
Father Jeremy Hazuka
Dear Fr. Hazuka:
I am delighted to hear this. You're the second teacher to write me today to say they are using the piece to teach teens. That tickles me pink!
I like the observation about the Resurrection. I'll have to remember that!
