Approval Given to Movie with Violent Rape Shows Loss of Moral Sense

TORONTO — Taboos seem to have fallen completely with even politically incorrect evils such as rape becoming commonplace on movie screens. Last week, the movie Irresistable, a French film containing a graphic nine-minute rape scene opened in theaters across Ontario, Canada.

A CBC story on the approval of the film by the Ontario Film Review Board noted that the film caused 250 people to walk out when it was screened at the Cannes Film Festival. Twenty people were given oxygen after fainting from viewing the film.
