Appreciating the Present Moment

In the rush of daily living, it is often easy to lose track of the present moment. We tend to be looking ahead to the next thing to be done, or looking back at the past trying to replay events that happened. Next time you find yourself either worrying about the future or trying to fix the past, take a moment to really appreciate the moment you are in.

Pick an object or a person in the room you are in, or something in nature if you are outside, and truly observe them. Notice the colors, the smells, the textures. Pay attention. Take a deep breath. Say a simple prayer of thanks for that moment, that beauty. Appreciate the gift of the moment.
