Adjusting to Organizational Change

I came home from teaching CCD to find that my husband had completely reorganized our kitchen. All of a sudden, he had decided that the way it was just was not working for him. He did a good job. The counters are pretty clear of items whereas before they were rather cluttered. All the food items have been moved to the places where they fit best on the shelves. The 30 bottles of bubbles which were occupying a shelf unto themselves were weeded to a much more manageable eight or nine, despite my children's protests! All in all, my husband really did all of us a favor. And yet, for right now, I hate it.

Oh, I enjoy the clean counters and I appreciate his initiative in tackling this project which I had obviously been ignoring. But I can't find anything. I know I will open up the cabinet where the cereal used to be and will be frustrated with the fact that it is no longer located there. This system, designed to be more effective, will, for a while at least, cost me more time and aggravation. I will adjust. In time, I won't remember where things used to be located and it will feel like it has always been this way. Change, even for the better, always requires a period of adjustment.
