Abundant Pardon!

Isaiah 55:7

Let the wicked forsake his way, and the unrighteous man his thoughts; let him return to the LORD, that he may have mercy on him, and to our God, for he will abundantly pardon.

It has been wisely said that mercy is God’s greatest attribute.  It cost God, so far as we know, nothing to create the universe.  To redeem rebellious creatures, however, cost him crucifixion.  And, amazingly, he created the universe knowing full well that the Cross was coming.  Since God has intended from the foundation of the world to give us such mercy, let us avail ourselves of it fully.  There is no sin, no despicable deed for which we berate ourselves, no guilt of any kind which God is not ready, willing and able to pardon today.  We have only to turn to him and away from sin, ask his forgiveness and he will give it—and the power to change and be filled with his Holy Spirit as well.  Today, thank God for the riches of his mercy.
