Palos Heights, IL — The Coalition on Abortion/Breast Cancer, an international women's organization, announced the availability of two new television commercials informing women about the existence of medical research linking abortion with breast cancer. The coalition heralded its efforts to raise funds to air the commercials which can be viewed on the group's website, www.AbortionBreastCancer.com.
“The commercials are a resource available to any group wanting to educate the public about the medical research,” commented Karen Malec, president of the coalition. “They can be aired as public service announcements, as well.”
The ABC Link commercials were created and produced by Virtue Media, Inc. for the Breast Cancer Prevention Institute, a non-profit organization based in Poughkeepsie, New York, which distributes the commercials at cost.
Virtue Media, Inc., is a non-profit, grassroots organization dedicated to creating and airing positive messages of life, love, and hope through national, quality award winning television commercials. The commercials (10- & 30-second lengths) feature a female coach mentoring her high school girls' volleyball team. A portion of the voice over says:
“I wish I'd known. I've got breast cancer and wish someone had told me earlier that abortion could increase the risk of breast cancer by 50% or more. Learn the facts today.”
These commercials are currently airing in select U.S. and international markets, in English and Spanish.
“The institutions in our society which customarily assume responsibility for public health awareness campaigns – organized medicine, anti-cancer organizations, media and government – have manifested a strong aversion to this politically incorrect research for nearly five decades,” argued Malec. “In the meantime, the incidence of breast cancer among American women has climbed 40% since the 1973 decision legalizing abortion. Without a grassroots effort to educate the public, women will never learn the truth.”
“It is crucial that women who've had abortions learn they're at risk for the disease and seek early detection. Our group can offer them ways to reduce their risks of breast cancer,” said Malec. “Abortion-bound women and teenagers must be fully informed of this health risk as well. For these reasons, our women's group is working to raise funds to air the commercials.”
Individuals wanting to purchase copies of the commercial may contact the Breast Cancer Prevention Institute by calling 845/452-0797 or e-mail at joelbrind@aol.com. VHS copies cost $10.00, and Beta copies (broadcast quality) cost $40.00.
