All of us relate to a mother’s love for her child. God’s love is indeed limitless and will never waver; it is even stronger than a mother’s love for her child: “Can a woman forget the baby at her breast and have no compassion on the child of her womb? Yet though she forget, I will not forget you.”
We know that this great love of God for all of us was shown through the death and resurrection of his Son Jesus Christ for us.
In the Gospel reading Jesus tells all of his close relationship with the Father who has sent him into the world. Jesus does the work the Father has sent him to do, to give eternal life to those who believe in him.
We are truly blessed to have a God, a Father, who loves us beyond compare, with the love only a mother could have for the child she has carried in her womb and fed at her breast. May we love God and urge the world to love him in return.
