2 John!

2 John 9

Any one who goes ahead and does not abide in the doctrine of Christ does not have God; he who abides in the doctrine has both the Father and the Son.

The Church perpetually faces two problems, those who lag behind and don’t want to go where the Spirit of Christ leads and those who “go ahead” and want to rush off to someplace the Spirit is not really going.  In the Church today, we face both the “Repeal Vatican II” crowd and those who are only loyal to the imaginary Third Vatican Council that will mold the Tradition into whatever they want it to be.  The trick to being Catholic is to be where the Spirit is, not where he is not.  Today, don’t lag behind or go ahead: just stick with Christ.
