“The Finish Line Seems So Far Away” – Day 1 From the Road with Fr. Hilton

Fr. Hilton biked the first 60 miles of his cross-country trip yesterday. “The finish line seems so far away,” he says.

One of his worries was about rain. He reflects that God gave him the answer to his anxiety on the very first day: it rained! And it was fine!

Here’s Fr. Hilton’s video after completing the first 60 miles of his cross-country journey:

In an email from SpiritualDirection.com reader, Heather said she saw Anacortes mentioned last week and couldn’t resist clicking the “Read more” link.

You bet I read on…there was a priest coming to our home on this great mission for Christ?!?  Yes!  Yet no one here had heard about it before then.  We tracked Fr. Hilton down, and managed to connect with him to find out the where and when of his departure.  It was a great blessing to us all.  Our children are drawn in, they have their own mission to follow Fr. Hilton for the next 2 months, and they have another seed planted about the importance of vocations.  And as parents we get to use his mission to encourage others in our families, parish, and communities.  He’s linking us all in our larger faith family.

Heather was kind enough to share some pictures with us, and we thought you would enjoy it too as we all surround Fr. Hilton with our prayers.
