I think one of the weirdest I ever heard was when they showed The Breakfast Club and changed “Eat my shorts!” to “Eat my socks!”Why? I don’t know.

This was a Monday to Friday great column. But you missed my two favorites (they’re probably not on YouTube). My second favorite is in Clint Eastwood’s HEARTBREAK RIDGE, where Gunny Highway and numerous other long-time serving Marines complain about the “cluster flops” they encounter. Well, at least they get the “cluster” part right. But my all-time favorite is from Coppola’s own TV edit of THE GODFATHER. When they’re setting up Michael’s restaurant hit of Sollozzo, Sonny exclaims “I don’t want my brother coming out of that toilet with just a stick in his hands…”. I had seen the movie several times in the theater, and wondered how they were going to clean up the original line. When I heard it, at first I thought they had left the line as spoken. It actually took me a minute to realize Sonny said “…a stick…”. That was a great edit.

Great post! And I’ll add “. Moreover, this language reveals not only a person’s bad attitude and lack of respect for others, but also his own immaturity and insecurity in dealing with others.” And also shows a poor grasp of the English language. There are far more imaginative and hilarious expressions that can be used. One of our favorite books is “Shakespeare’s Insults: Educating Your Wit”. I mean, how can you beat “He has not so much brain as ear wax”! Eeew.
