Catholic League president Bill Donohue is demanding that presidential hopeful John Edwards fire two recently hired anti-Catholics who have joined his team: Amanda Marcotte as Blogmaster and Melissa McEwan as the Netroots Coordinator. Here's why:

"Writing on the Pandagon blogsite, December 26, 2006, Amanda Marcotte wrote that ‘the Catholic church is not about to let something like compassion for girls get in the way of using the state as an instrument to force women to bear more tithing Catholics.' On October 9, 2006, she said that ‘the Pope's gotta tell women who give birth to stillborns that their babies are cast into Satan's maw.' On the same day she wrote that ‘it's going to be bad PR for the church, so you can sort of see why the Pope is dragging ass.' And on June 14, 2006, she offered the following Q&A: ‘What if Mary had taken Plan B after the Lord filled her with his hot, white, sticky Holy Spirit,' to which she replied, ‘You'd have to justify your misogyny with another ancient mythology.'

"On November 21, 2006, Melissa McEwan said on AlterNet that ‘some of Christianity's most prominent leaders — including the Pope — regularly speak out against gay tolerance.' On November 1, 2006, on her blogspot Shakespeare's Sister, she referred to President Bush's ‘wingnut Christofascist base' when lashing out against religious conservatives. On February 21, 2006, she attacked religious conservatives again, this time saying, ‘What don't you lousy motherf—ers understand about keeping your noses out of our britches, our beds, and our families?' Currently, the very first entry under ‘Greatest Hits' on her website [where she brags about being appointed to Edwards' campaign] is titled, ‘On C—s'. In her article she boasts that she is the ‘Queen C— of F–k Mountain.'

"John Edwards is a decent man who has had his campaign tarnished by two anti-Catholic vulgar trash-talking bigots. He has no choice but to fire them immediately."

Wow, that Melissa sounds really classy.  I wish people would understand the distinction between speaking out against the gay lifestyle/gay marriage as opposed to promoting hate and intolerance toward people who identify themselves as gay.  The  Holy Father would never promote hate or violene toward anyone;  he is just trying to explain that the definition of marriage is one man and one woman.

Never fails to amuse me that those who chide me for "intolerance" in my beliefs are so intolerant of ME! And such language.  These young women remind me of my four-year old who tries to get a rise out of her dear old mother by calling someone a "butt face."  Do they really think that it makes them appear more mature?

This should not suprise anyone, Edwards isnt all that bright even though

he became a super millionaire by suing Dr., and Hospitals.

For once I disagree with Mr. Donohue, unless the word decent has a new meaning. We can't figure out how we started receiving Edwards' campaign emails which are disgusting in tone, barring a recent Planned Unparenthood event which I attended incognito  (no, didn't sign up for the ungodly doorprizes, thank God…but did use cc to pay which RTL reimbursed and consequently besides receiving PPFA e-notices, we also receive Edwards' even though there are zero Democrats in our home. Go figure. The two are connected and when Melissa has shown herself as such with undignified language and limited thought processes it sounds a lot like any PPFA website. These are not so subtle points indicating the connections and loyalties of Edwards with the supposedly Not-for-Profit abortion industry. Perhaps Edwards believes he's linking himself to the "breast exams/mamo" services of PPFA but one cannot separate oneself from the source which is evil to the core. I believe many anti-Catholics work for PPFA if not all, after hearing what comes out of their mouths in person several times at several events and seeing their anti-Christian, anti-decency slideshow and movie which our state Rep. Grijalva stars in, unbeknownst to many a Catholic.
