“Over the past 90 years Planned Parenthood has managed to kill millions of preborn children through abortion, push dangerous contraceptives on women and teens, and saturate our culture with promiscuity,” said Jim Sedlak, vice president of American Life League. “This begs the question of why anyone would ever 'celebrate' this organization's existence.”
Abortion proponents are lauding Planned Parenthood's destructive work as the group marked its 90th anniversary on October 16. Since 1916, Planned Parenthood has grown to become the largest abortion chain in the nation, using millions of dollars from American taxpayers to underwrite its aggressive promotion of abortion and immorality.
“Despite how they attempt to spin their image, Planned Parenthood hardly represents the status quo in America,” said Sedlak. “This is an organization that, over the years, has bragged about the murder of babies with the offensive 'I had an abortion' T-shirt, mocked Christians with blasphemous 'Choice on Earth' holiday cards, and targeted young people with an offensive line of condom-holder key chains.”
Planned Parenthood began as a birth control clinic run by Margaret Sanger in New York. Despite Sanger's disturbing beliefs about minorities African Americans in particular Planned Parenthood does not separate itself from its notorious founder. “From the draconian Negro Project of the 1930s to the fact that 30% of Planned Parenthood's clinics are located in states with high Latino populations, it is evident that the organization still holds to Sanger's desires to prevent and limit births of minority children.
“To make matters even worse, Planned Parenthood operates its illicit business largely on the American taxpayer's dime,” said Sedlak. “The organization took $272 million in federal, state and local tax funding in the last fiscal year, amounting to approximately one-third of their income. Planned Parenthood will not survive without our taxpayer dollars.
“Millions of Americans are sick and tired of Planned Parenthood's radical propaganda and want to see the organization closed for good,” said Sedlak. “We must work tirelessly to ensure that Planned Parenthood does not celebrate another anniversary of killing and corruption.”
