When the Catechism of the Catholic Church asks, “What is contemplation?”, it directs the question to St. Teresa of Avila. Why is that?

You’ll find out, in the “Introduction to St. Teresa of Avila” course is being offered “live online” from the School of Spiritual Formation this spring from the Avila Institute for Spiritual Formation. It’s because there are few other saints who have had a greater influence on the Church. Teresa of Avila teaches us what it means to pursue and live in the heights of union with God in this life.

One of the reasons for offering this course now is to celebrate the 500th anniversary of St. Teresa’s birth in Avila, Spain, on March 28, 1515.

In this course, we will explore the life and work of this great mystic of the Church. This will help us better understand how to love and experience God in this life and serve him in the next.

Beyond this course, we are also excited to announce a number of new School of Spiritual Formation courses being offered this Spring that will provide you with life-changing wisdom and insight into your spiritual journey:

  • Spiritual Warfare in Modern Times – CS Lewis and the Screwtape Letters
  • Living the Virtuous Life
  • Evangelization and the Spiritual Life

The registration deadline for Spring Quarter courses is January 15. For more information on any of our programs, please contact me at [email protected], call me at (520) 428-4524, or visit www.Avila-Institute.com and try out our new chat feature so I can help answer your questions.
