Girl Scouts Distribute Planned Parenthood Sex Guide at UN Meeting

The World Association of Girl Scouts and Girl Guides hosted a no-adults-welcome panel at the United Nations this week where Planned Parenthood was allowed to distribute a brochure entitled “Healthy, Happy and Hot.” The event was part of the annual United Nations Commission on the Status of Women (CSW) which concludes this week.

The brochure, aimed at young people living with HIV, contains explicit and graphic details on sex, as well as the promotion of casual sex in many forms.  The brochure claims, “Many people think sex is just about vaginal or anal intercourse… But, there are lots of different ways to have sex and lots of different types of sex. There is no right or wrong way to have sex. Just have fun, explore and be yourself!” The brochure goes on to encourage young people to “Improve your sex life by getting to know your own body. Play with yourself! Masturbation is a great way to find out more about your body and what you find sexually stimulating. Mix things up by using different kinds of touch from very soft to hard. Talk about or act out your fantasies. Talk dirty to them.”

The brochure also tells students that national laws requiring HIV-positive people to reveal their status to their partner(s) “violate the rights of people living with HIV” and calls for advocacy to “change laws that violate your rights.”  It explains, “There are many reasons that people do not share their HIV status. … They may worry that people will find out something else they have kept secret, like they are using injecting drugs, having sex outside of a marriage or having sex with people of the same gender.”

The Girl Scouts, along with the YMCA have been co-moderating a young women’s caucus that included an “Intergenerational Conversation” side event on “universal access” and “reproductive health.”  One recent Girl Scout project “aims at securing the right of women, men and adolescents aged between ten and twenty-five, to better reproductive and sexual health.”

Also at CSW last week, the heads of various powerful UN agencies including the UN Population Fund, UN Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization (UNESCO), UN Children’s Fund and the World Health Organization released a “UN Joint Statement” under the name of the “UN Adolescent Girls Task Force,” which calls for their agencies to promote and support programs “that empower … adolescent girls, particularly those aged 10 to 14 years.”  One of the chief priorities for empowerment is ensuring access to “life-skills based sexuality education, HIV prevention, and sexual and reproductive health.”

The New York Times recently reported that UN Population Fund had co-sponsored a very controversial curriculum with UNESCO, that included teaching children as young as five to be sexually active and training adolescents to advocate for abortion.

Wendy Wright, president of Concerned Women of America told the Friday Fax, “Governments and NGOs should be aware of Planned Parenthood’s insidious plan to work with UN agencies and girls’ organizations in order to profit from encouraging kids to be sexually active.”

I want to know why there are no comments to this article. I see comments to others articles here on this web site, but none to this outrage! Why??!!

I have plenty to say about this outrage but where are the moms and parents I know read these articles??

There are no comments because we just shake our heads in dismay, although there is no surprise here. Our charismatic community reorganized our Girl Scout troop into a Court of the Junior Catholic Daughters of the Americas about 15 years ago, after we begged our local GS council to stop working with and supporting Planned Parenthood. This story is old news. The break with Girl Scouts was very painful for us who were leaders, discovering that this mentor from our childhoods had been unfaithful and had no intention of repenting, even as they told us, “We would never allow anything that would harm the girls.” I am amazed that the bishops still allow parishes to sponsor Girl Scout troops, except perhaps that most of the PP work is done at the Cadette, Senior, and council level, and the Juniors and Brownies are relatively innocent. Nevertheless, I know a chunk of the cookie money goes to the council, which works closely with PP, so I haven’t bought a box of GS cookies in ages.

Thank you Christymomof3. As bad as it is I am afraid this goes way beyond the Girl Scouts.

Do you know how many countries now already have legal prostitution and gain tax dollars from the “pimping” of their own women? A lot! Our children are being sold (trained) into the abortion mill and into prostitution. Do not be surprised when that is the new legislation coming to our country soon… legalized prostitution.

    Quote from a web site:
Donna M. Hughes, PhD, Professor and Eleanor M. and Oscar M. Carlson Endowed Chair of the Women’s Studies Program at the University of Rhode Island, wrote in the May 11, 2004 National Review article “Don’t Legalize” that stated:
“German lawmakers thought they were going to get hundreds of millions of euros in tax revenue when they legalized prostitution and brothels in 2002. But keeping with criminal nature of prostitution, the newly redefined ‘business owners’ and ‘freelance staff’ in brothels will not pay up. Germany is suffering a budget deficit, and the Federal Audit Office estimates that the government has lost over two billion euros a year in unpaid tax revenue from the sex industry. Last week, lawmakers started to look for ways to increase collection of taxes from prostitutes. Disgustingly, they expect to solve their economic problems, at least in part, off the backs of the some of the most abused and exploited women in the world.”

After looking at this “brochure” (listed in article above) it is hard to imagine God’s patience will continue for much longer… to me it seems He is already sending us warnings.

We are considered cattle herded for the slaughter.
They have sold themselves into exile – they have prostituted themselves to their enemies.

PLEASE!!! PLEASE!!!! Send this article to your pastor, your girlfriends, any Christian who will listen!!!

I was Girls Scout from 2nd grade through my senior yr in high school and most of us, as well as our leaders were solid Catholics and this makes me vomit!

Last Sunday was Girl Scout Sunday at our local parish and we were encouraged to buy G.S. cookies. If our orthodox priest reads this I bet we won’t have another Girl Scout Sunday!

Kudos to the Boy Scouts!!! They have stayed the course and under incredible pressure to cave, I might add. But the Girls Scouts have decided it is better to be “Hot” and popular than to be “clean in thought word and deed” as the pledge went when I was a scout.

Let’s hit them up with as much publicity as we can on this and BOYCOTT cookie sales! Hit them where the money is!!!

I am the father of a Girl Scout, and have been following this and researching this on the internet since first seeing the accounts of this incident.

The issue is much bigger than whether a Planned Parenthood pamphlet was or was not intentionally and knowingly allowed to be distributed to Girl Scouts at a Girl Scout meeting during the recent UN Commission on the Status of Women meetings.

If you go to the World Association of Girl Guides and Girl Scouts (WAGGGS) official web pages at http://www.wagggsworld.org/en/CSW54/Day6, you will see that WAGGGS themselves posted a story about their delegates to the UN CSW meetings openly “demanding access to safe, accessible, affordable aboritons for young people.” This is being done in the name of Girl Scouting at the UN.

GSUSA is a member of WAGGGS and pays a lot of money to help fund WAGGGS. GSUSA is downplaying the WAGGGS role at the UN meetings with carefully scripted statements that completely omit the advocacy that was going on by WAGGGS.

Send this link to your friends in Girl Scouting. Then also let them know to contact their local diocesan youth ministry officials and to contact the National Catholic Committee on Girl Scouts and Camp Fire Girls (NCCGSGF) at info@nccgsfg.org (who are run under the direction of the National Federation of Catholic Youth Ministry or NFCYM to express their outrage and to urge the NCCGSFG and NFCYM to contact GSUSA to demand a statement that uniequivocally says GSUSA does not agree with or support the advocacy actions of WAGGGS.
