Ironically, the tax exemption has probably hurt the Church more than it has helped.
Once marriage is redefined and any opposition is considered a civil rights violation, the Church will really be under attack. I suppose the tax exemption won’t really matter much then.
God help us if we can’t bring our tax returns to judgement day.

Thank you Fr. Orsi for your wonderful article on
Savonorola: “The Rise And Fall Of A Renaissance
Prophet”. Perhaps we will call him Saint one day.
We surely need good and bold leadership. Your said that
“Perhaps the Church should take a cue from
Savonarola and speak out more forcefully against
those who are responsible for promoting offences
against God’s laws. The heck with our tax-exemption!” It
prompted me to send you and interesting link to a video
of Mike Huckabee’s interview with a pastor and what
is being done in getting and asking other pastors to do
concerning whether tax exemption for churches speaking out
