Proverbs 10:22
The blessing of the LORD makes rich,
and he adds no sorrow with it.
Many people live their lives waiting for the other shoe to drop. “Sure, things are good now,” they say,” but sooner or later the mask will come off reality and we’ll see how truly ugly everything really is.” Christ has good news for those people: the other shoe dropped 2,000 years ago on a hill called Calvary and the very worst that reality could do was done. God has already been killed. It’s the worst thing that could ever happen and it’s happened already. Yet even the worst was powerless to stop God’s plan to bless us with all the riches that are in Christ Jesus. That’s why there’s no sorrow in Easter. Death has done its worst and has no more power. With the triumph of Christ all is life!
