Thou, Lord, didst found the earth in the beginning,
and the heavens are the work of thy hands.
From the very beginning God is good. The subsequent tumult of history can sometimes obscured the basic insight given us in the morning of the world. We can get so overwhelmed by the sheer complexity of history and the tremendous evils which have overtaken our race due to our own sin that we forget the basic truth: God is good as he was in the beginning.
