God bless the Tebows, Focus on the Family, Sarah Palin and Catholic Exchange for speaking the truth in love. "Truth is great, it will prevail." "Shine on the world like bright stars, you are offering it the word of life."

I spent a few months in a monastery in 1999. One of the things that struck me about the place was that here, the truth was resplendent; it was like a brilliant ray of light emanating from that holy place and illuminating everything and everyone who approached it. Visitors to the monastery, whether they came seeking penance, rest, peace, or hope, were all cast in stark relief by the brilliance of the light.

I think truth is like that. This commercial (which, when I finally saw it Sunday, I found anticlimactic) is like a ray of light, the truth, that brings out the highlights and the shadows of everyone who sees it. Seen in this light, NOW and the other pro-abortion organizations just look hateful. The rest of us, people who love children, families, and social order, are wondering, What's all the fuss about?
