The Pope points out, as Catholics have always held, that the protection of the environment is a moral need. The preservation of the environment and life have always been linked. Thus there is no new papal environmentalism. The love and respect for creation goes back to the beginning of the Bible. "In the beginning when God created the heavens and the earth... And God saw that the light was good; and God separated the light from the darkness" (Gen 1:1-4) Does anyone know what has happened to the forum "Faith and Life", as I am unable to access it recently?
