Worth the Wait!

Habakkuk 2:3

For still the vision awaits its time;
it hastens to the end — it will not lie.
If it seem slow, wait for it;
it will surely come, it will not delay.

If there is anything Christmas teaches us, it is that faith is rewarded when we wait.  The First Coming of Christ took place at the end of an enormously long wait:  the earth awaited the arrival of man, the human race awaited the arrival of the Chosen People, the Chosen People awaited the arrival of Messiah.  Now the Bride of Messiah awaits His return.  Jesus did not come late.  He arrived, as Paul tells us, in the “fulness of time.”  So too, He shall come again in glory, not a moment too late — or too soon.  Today, pray “Thy kingdom come” not in anxiety, but in joyful hope.  It will.
