Moreover, St. Paul tells us that to receive the Body and Blood of Christ unworthily is to bring condemnation on ourselves. Denying communion to pro-abortion and pro-contraception politicians is not only consistent with the teachings of the Church, it is a loving act of charity.

Tony Blair and his wife have long stood against important Church teachings. Blair has always been publicly pro abortion and he did not retract his position in order to be received into the Catholic Church; he was received into the Church despite his public stands against important teachings of the Church and it was made to seem as if the Church should feel honored to have him as a member. This was a shameful act...but no more so than those Bishops who continue to allow Catholic politicians who publicly, not only accept abortion, but who promote it as strongly and consistently as they can. Until our Bishops stand strong and clear on this issue, nothing is going to change because Catholic politicians, like Pelosi, are emboldened by their ability to flaunt the Church's teachings...Archbihop Burke is not lying when he states, and has stated all along, that to deny a Catholic politician who publicly supports abortion Holy Communion is not a matter of personal opinion but a fact of canon law which clearly states that giving these politicians Holy Communion is this case is prohibited. Since these Catholic pro abortion politicians receive no consequences, they can continue to flaunt their opposition to the Church...and get away with it, while leading many astray and being responsible for the deaths of millions of unborn babies. Our Bishops need to man-up.
