		<description>While I agree with Dr. Morse that the sacrament of matrimony is the ideal environment in which to raise a child, a wedding band alone is not going to ensure that a man treats his wife&#039;s children well.

A woman needs to consider VERY carefully what kind of man she allows around her children. A man whose character is such that he proposes living together before marriage, is not one that you want having a daily influence on your children.

And yet, there is also a lesson for the rest of us here. All too often, single mothers make desperate and ill-advised choices with regard to finding a husband because they truly believe they have no alternative. As Christians, it is up to us to extend ourselves to help those in need, and welcome them into our communities, so they do not endanger their children because they cannot bear to be alone.</description>
