To quote that great American philosopher Gomer Pyle "Surprise, Surprise, Surprise". Look at who these people (Obama, the left wing Democratic leaders) have associated themselves with throughout their lives, more importantly, who (Planned Parenthood) they are indebted to and anyone with an ounce of common sense can see that this supposed amendment will not be any final version. Apparently the Bishops don't have an ounce of common sense if you read some of their unbelieveable comments.
This isn't about health care for the Democrats, who have and always will promote abortion. This is about power and making a large voting block dependent on big government (or shall we say brother). If dumping raw sewage into pristine mountain streams could be the means to the ultimate ends Barack ("You can judge me by who I surround myself with") Obama, Pelosi, Reid, Kerry etc. want they would do it.
Cardinal George of Chicago (imagine that) comments about Obama's commitment to keep abortion outr of health care reform are disgusting. The same Obama administration that overturned the Mexico City policy, and is using taxpayer money to promote abortion (force his will) in foreign countries. Cardinal Rigali voicing support is just as disturbing way. This just shows how disconnected these two are from the laity (remember polling shows the majority of Americans and Catholics do not support abortion) and sadly from Catholic teaching. I suggest the Cardinals need to go back and start in RCIA again.
I guess you can see that Obama's plan to divide and conquer the Church (i.e. the one true Church founded by Jesus Christ) is on the march.
These two men, if that had any morals, would step down from their positions of authority but that would take common sense and most of all common decency, neither of which appear to be in abundance in the hierarchy of the Church in the United States.
