I visited that Basilica, and it is not the nicest church in Boston. It is in a run down neigborhood. It was kind of shabby-looking when I was there, although I understand it has received some improvements. Judging from the modern marble pulpit, it still needs work. There were a lot of delusional clerical sychophants running about making grandiose statements about the deceased, but Cardinal O'Malley kept a paternal eye on the proceedings. It would have been a bigger scandal if he had been the main celebrant and homilist at the Mass. I'm glad the Cardinal was there. Healthy people don't need a doctor, sick people do.

Lord knows, I am no saint - just an everyday "Joe Catholic" who tries, falls, gets up and tries again.

But it is SO disheartening in instances like this to see SOME of our priests, bishops and cardinals be SO spineless!

Jesus had no patience or empathy for the money changers. I sincerely doubt that He would have any for Kennedy, Pelosi, Biden, Kerry, Sebelius or their ilk (including Notre Dame).

Talk about feeling betrayed!

I'm afraid this doesn't surprise me. I too am disappointed in Archbishop O'Malley. I have attended the Life Rally in Washington, DC for the past 5 years...as well as the Mass at the Basilica. Over my life I have prayed not only for the unborn, but also for the conversion of those who support abortion. It seems this year that I will have to double my efforts for those who are suppose to defend our Catholic Faith.

I was really disappointed in Archbishop O'Malley. Abortion needs to be aknowledged for the holocaust that it is. Once, when I was denouncing abortion to one of my mother's "pro-choice" friends, she told me that it should make me feel better to know that there are people on the other side of the issue who feel just as strongly as I do. Of course I didn't think of it at the time, but my response should have been "Would it make you feel better to know that there are people who are pro-slavery who feel just as strongly about the issue as you do?" If abortion was seen for what it really is, the charade of this past weekend's funeral would have never occurred.

You are in my prayers, Father. I'm sorry for the pain you are experiencing. It is Christ's sorrow of betrayal. Yet, you already know that. Blessings to you. Rejoicing in Hope!
