During the year of St Paul, a beautiful icon of St Paul was on display on a pedestal a lit candle in the sanctuary of our church. An icon of Jesus Christ the High Priest to be displayed in the same manner. The framed icon of St Paul now has a permanent place on the wall in the chapel.

When you think of all the sacrifices that Moms of 11 make, the numbers would be astonoshing.

I like the banners for Priests idea.
Priests rock!

Rachel,
thanks for this reminder. I love priests too!

I think this Year of the Priest is even MORE accessible than the Year of St Paul because all Catholics have a priest to pray for and love.

However, I believe that if you polled most folks as they exited the church after mass they'd be clueless that this IS the Year of the Priest!

Perhaps individual dioceses need to instruct churches to hang banners like we did during the Jubilee Year. I attended mass throughout the East coast that year and saw a banner in every church that said "Open Wide the Doors to Christ!"

Maybe we need banners that say "Priests: In Persona Christi"
