Both today’s and yesterday’s verses remind us that this world is passing away and that those who try to be king of this world are merely clawing their way to the stern of the Titanic as it rears high in the air before its terrible plunge to the bottom of the sea. Rather than all the foolish fuss about “being gods” that the devil dangles in front of us, remember reality: “He who loses his life for my sake will find it.” Today, lose your life for Jesus’ sake and you will surely find it.
