I didn't think politically loaded questions like the one ventured by bottom-feeder-celebrity-gossip Perez Hilton were allowed or encouraged. If the contestant had been Arab-American would they have allowed a question such as: "Should Israel give back all occupied territory taken after the 1967 Arab-Israeli conflict in accordance with U.N. Resolution 242?" Or what if someone had asked one of the black contestants: "Do you believe it is proper to impose mandatory racial quotas in all aspects of the workplace?" Then again, most "gay" celebs are also self-appointed activists who never seem to miss an opportunity to advance their agenda in the public eye. Hilton saw his opening at the Miss USA pageant and he took it. Nice to see it backfire in his face. :-) A very courageous young lady.
