It is so hard and yet so easy, isn't it? Being holy is just being what we are called to be by God. And know that you are not alone. There are many of us who happily strive for holiness every day, we aren't embarrassed by the life of holiness we lead and are teaching our children to do the same. While we may be quietly going about our lives - ignored by the secular media or ridiculed by it - we know that this world will fade. As Todd mentions, it seems shame to miss out on that because of some silly choices or activities.

Todd,

Being awesomely holy is about living the Law of the Gift. Your article is getting at that so I'll come out and say it. Give at every turn. Give others what they ask for; if you can't, give a blessing and a prayer. Put yourself in the breach between other people and become the lubricating oil that makes everything run smoothly. Give without counting the cost, even when (especially when) nobody else notices. The fundamental gift that you give is the gift of yourself to Christ, and that happens inside where nobody else can see. Give your life to Him, and place it at his disposal completely and 100%, with nothing held back. Then you will find yourself becoming awesomely holy in a surprisingly short period of time.

Terrific article, Todd! This is where our heads (and hearts!) should be every day. This is the goal we are persuing. Like you, I "fail a lot". Like you, I "succeed some of the time". That's not "good enough", but it's better than not trying at all. Keep up the good work!
