Love Dare Day Seven: Love Believes the Best

Today all of us made lists of positive attributes of each family member, we shared them at dinner.

“Love believes all things, hopes all things.” 1 Corinthians 13:7

This was my favorite day yet! We sat around the dinner table and each person presented one thing they liked about each other family member. We laughed, appreciated each other, and surprised each other with what we had written.

The children had wonderful things to say about each other and about us. For instance, they all recognized how hard their dad works for them and all he sacrifices for our family. (I am sure there are times he thought no one noticed or that his efforts were all in vain.) They complimented one sister on her strength in character and faith, a brother on his kindness, still another on his wonderful sense of humor.

My daughter and I are still sick, but the family really has pitched in to help us. If the dare does nothing else, it has helped us to remember what we like about each other and to consider one another’s needs.

Lord, let us not forget the good in each other. Thank you for the unique gifts you have given each of us and how they work so well together.
