As to the second, if both the tribunal of the first instance and the tribunal of the second instance agree that a decree of nullity should be issued, the respondent (I&#039;m sure that&#039;s not the right term for a canon court) may appeal the decision to the Roman Rota.</description>

Also, what if one of the marriage partners did enter the marriage freely—or thought he/she had and does not want the marriage annulled?</description>
