Power outages have one good side -- they bring friends and neighbors together. Once we had an outage for three days, and a neighbor fixed an old camp stove for us, and we had an outdoor picnic with him and his wife, sharing food that had been cooked on it. Another time we had a dear friend and her dog stay overnight in our house because her power was still out and ours had come back on.

It's been quite a winter! Our ice storm was two weeks before Christmas. We didn't sustain as much damage as you did, but we were without power for 5 days and had to go to a hotel as our house was got down to the 50s on day one and the 40s on day two, unsafe for a baby.
