Under the Tent!

Amos 9:11

In that day I will raise up
the booth of David that is fallen
and repair its breaches,
and raise up its ruins,
and rebuild it as in the days of old.

If you are a Gentile and are united with Christ, you are living at high noon on “that day” which Amos spoke of in today’s verse.  The booth (or tent) of David is none other than the kingdom that was promised to the Son of David, Jesus, and it has been spread out to cover and rule all the nations of the earth, as the prophets promised.  It was this promise that the early Church looked to when it met to decide what to do about all the non-Jews who were coming to believe in Jesus (Acts 15).  Today, thank God for his choice to include you in his covenant family along with all the descendants of Abraham!
