I go on with, "Gee, here at the end of chapter 25 of Saint Matthew's Gospel Christ says that God helps those who help others. I've never found God saying He helps those who help themselves. And, don't you think that God would surely tell us what to help ourselves to, then? To your mind, just what is it that we should be helping ourselves to?" In the midst of holy Mass, feel-good pseudo-Christianity finds its voice.
