As I was praying my Rosary during my early morning jog I passed by friends homes. Friends not Catholic but very pro-life. As you mention, I wonder if this cross we will bear concerning abortion and Obama will be the galvinizing bringing sheep back to the fold. These friends have mentioned how they have great respect for the Catholic Church's work and stance on life issues.
The exit polling concerning Catholics (not 'every' Sunday Catholics), however, still creates scandal and slows the bridge building toward our brothers in Christ.

I've not heard that chain of thought but it is something interesting to consider. Although could it be said that the Church will become galvinized in securing the rights for the unborn and that if it is truly the "line in the sand" all energies should be focused there at this critical point in our country's history? Maybe once we protect the most innocent then we can truly work for God's kingdom and take care of all others. I don't know but it is something to contemplate.

Not to worry others but there is a thought out there that considers the passage of FOCA and other legislation contrary to Catholic teaching a move by those enemies of the Church wishing to force Her out of the public eye. By enacting laws that force the Church out of health care and other charitable works the enemy slowly drains the good works and Church from the public square.
It's insidious and that's how satan works.
