I am the vine, you are the branches. He who abides in me, and I in him, he it is that bears much fruit, for apart from me you can do nothing.
This verse is in the context of bearing fruit in your life. It’s an obvious conclusion that the branches cannot live without the vine, but how many days go by without communing with Christ? If Jesus isn’t your source of nourishment, what kind of fruit are you producing? Make the necessary changes and abide in Him. When you go to bed tonight, ask yourself the question, “During this day, what did I spiritually eat?”

Thank you, Mr. Shea, for getting around to this one. When people tell me I have no right to judge another, your headline is my response. Or, I can’t tell you how many times I’ve been asked to spend time, money and attention on the newest rage in speakers, or the newest seminar, or the newest Christian music group making the rounds; when I decline, I’m rarely asked why, but when they ask, your headline is my response. If someone can’t provide a single strawberry (much less, a jarfull of jam) to put on my peanut butter sandwich, I’ve got better things to do……like mulching my own trees!
