Instead, they want a "solution" that will let them "eat their cake and have it, too". That's what's driving the popularity of Barak Obama: he'll promise the moon and the stars to people who believe that they "deserve" them! Are we "going down"? I think anybody with "eyes to see and ears to hear" knows the answer. Can we still turn it around? I really don't think so: nobody seems to be willing to abandon "the good life"(?) for the work (much less the sacrifices) needed to bring us around even within target range. God has rather obviously been working to get our attention, and most would rather plug their ears than heed the warnings.
