Dear Elizabeth,
I loved your story! I can tell you first hand that novenas and prayers to St. Theresa are answered and she does let you know with a rose. When I was pregnant with my fourth child, I was diagnosed with placenta previa. The doctors were ordering bed rest (yeah right, with 3 kids!!!). I was so scared and overwhelmed. My mother started a novena to St. Theresa. Every 2 weeks I went to the hospital for sonograms and testing. I was seeing specialists since it was a "complete" previa, with "NO chance of moving". On December 17 I was about 6 months pregnant and went for my usual testing. The technician could not find my placenta and called in the head doctor who swore that I could not be the same patient that was seen a couple of weeks earlier. When I tearfully called my mom to tell her the good news she burst into tears because she had taken a walk in her garden that morning only to discover a beautiful pink rose on one of her rose bushes - something that does not bloom in December in the northeast. Our prayers were answered and Elizabeth Teresa was born the following March with no further complications. So thank you for sharing your beautiful story. I wish you a healthy pregnancy and I will say a prayer to St. Theresa for you and your babies!

Elizabeth,

I recently had a similar experience on my birthday.

With a houseful of kids and two in college, I didn't expect much in the way of gifts.

I received the most beautiful "rose petals", however from my daughter named after St Therese. She had scattered note cards with "I love you. Happy Birthday, Mom!" throughout my haunts.

I found one in my coffee beans, one near the dishwasher detergent under the sink, one in my laundry soap dispenser, one in a spice drawer.....and so on. I was thrilled and felt her showering love on me all day despite the persistence of the daily grind, even on my birthday.

I did receive a fruit bouquet from my husband. It was lovely to behold and tasted marvelous. But, the petals of love soothed my soul. Their fragrance lingers in eternity for St Therese, herself, inspired the small, hidden act of love.

Thanks for sharing your life with us.
