The real hypocrites are the Democrats, who claim to stand for the weak and vulnerable, yet uphold the "right" to kill an innocent child in the womb!

Besides, it is hard to be a hypocrite when you have no moral standards.

Col. Addison, I LOVED the article, but I have one comment. You wrote:

" Living the Gospel is hard, without grace it’s harder."

I would ammend that to read, "without grace, it's IMPOSSIBLE!"

"What our non-Christian critics don’t seem to get is that when we tell them that pre-marital sex, abortion, contraception, or homosexual behavior is wrong, we’re not judging them personally…we’re trying to offer them a hand out of the pit the world has shoved them into. We’re trying to love them, and it is decidedly not love to allow someone to injure themselves and others through sin."

Your article should also say (using your quote above):
"What our Christian brothers/sisters should seem to get is that when we tell them that pre-marital sex, fornication, and teenage promiscuity are wrong, we’re not judging them personally... we’re trying to offer them a hand out of the pit the world has shoved them into. We’re trying to love them, and it is decidedly not love to allow someone to injure themselves and others through sin."

By condemning the sin of fornication in Sarah Palin's daughter's case, Christians and non-Christians should understand that we are not condemning the sinner but the sin itself. Knowing the statistics that over 50% of all abortions in this country are committed by females ages 15-24, I am so frustrated to see virtually no discussion or written articles (in Catholic/Christian media and others) regarding the now "acceptable" widespread sin of fornication, especially among teenagers and young adults today.

We all want abortion to end because it is a clear mortal sin against the 5th commandment. But how can that ever happen successfully without also condemning the sins of the 6th commandment for all to hear?

Amen.

Both sinners and saints miss the mark and fall. The difference -- the ONLY difference -- is that the saints keep getting back up and keep moving toward holiness.

An interesting question these days is do we want our fellow sinners to get back up, or get displayed for all to see in their fallen condition?

Thanks for another fine article, Colonel!
