Just an administrative correction - the link above should have read:
http://www.twentyfortyvision.org/images/TarponSprings1.jpg or you can also
see it on the alternate page http://www.endlesswonder.com/images/TarponSprings1.html - This is a "Down's Syndrome" survivor who went on to become one of the two best Altar Servants in the entire Diocese of St. Petersburg ... so think about that, please, mothers of such children, before taking the so-called "easy" way out and denying yourself of the love and happiness such children were sent here to offer to you.

By David J. Hartline ...

"However, it was Palin’s choice for life which earned the family the deepest respect from the pro-life community. Governor Palin and her husband Todd knew in the first trimester of her last pregnancy that their youngest son, born this past April, had Down Syndrome. Yet, despite the fact that about 80% of first trimester Down Syndrome children are aborted, the Palin’s lovingly welcomed him into the world."

The point is missed here ... like all pregnancies, God lovingly sent a soul into existence ...

The Pastor of a Tarpon Springs, Florida Church can and will verify this, but just 2 weeks before Sarah Palin came upon the world stage I sent to the Bishop of St. Petersburg (not that he will ever intend to respond to this or anything else I sent him) a picture of the 2nd to most amazing Altar Servant I've ever seen. He's a Silver-medal winner, and among the hundreds of Altar Servants in this Diocese, that's quite a feat. He is only behind Savannah at Espiritu Santo Catholic Church, whose pious and holy nature leads me to believe that in her I'm seeing a real saint in the making.

Here is a picture of what Sarah Palin's son might someday be ...

http://www.twentyfortyvision.org/TarponSprings1.jpg

This is a time to not celebrate Sarah Palin so much for being such a great mother ... but a time to pray for all of those who knew better but to choose to extinguish lives such as this - the Diocese's Silver Medal Winner of the Altar Servant of the Year out of existence without even a chance to breathe a single breath.

And yes, this is, of course, not to celebrate Downs Syndrome humans as abnormal because they have Downs Syndrome, but rather because they give a diversity to the planet by their gifts that escape we, the so-called "normal" people.

There is an ancient Jewish saying at marriages that goes something like this: May God be with you, both in good times, and in bad times - and may God choose to spend most of His time with you in good times."

There is a movement within the hundreds of millions of American souls that is not led by Washington, and which truly gains its power and energy from the Holy Spirit and in fact is somewhat dismissive of, if not outright comtemptious of the so-called power of Washington, D.C.

Things may be bad, and everyone with any sense knows that many American families are losing homes, strugging with bills, and working harder for less money. The two schools of thought about how to fix this basically revolve around who we really want to be in control ... God or Washington?

It is downright banned by Rome - for good reasons - to allow Priests to openly engage in a political election. Please don't tell that to the fruitcake Catholic Priest in Chicago who should have been sent out of the Priesthood long ago. This ban on Priests endorsing politcal movments is actually an admission that no political power can really by the nature of the compromises of politics claim to completely do God's will. As a matter of fact, Earthbound politics is never more than the will of the people, and that is in the good days where the people's will actually has a role in the direction and fate of a nation - such as in the case of the United States of America.

This ban on priests goes back to the causes and reactions of the so-called Reformation movement where many leaders of the world let their power get to their heads supported by Church leaders and they even dared by "Divine Right" that if they had the Clergy Class behind them, then the Nobility would be able to exercise power and control over the Commoners, and to rebel against secular power ruling by Divine Right (as the Queen of England still claims to do), is by inference to rebel against the will of God.

People can claim that in this world everything is terrible. No. Terrible is when Al-Qaeda gives us the Triple Treat of nuclear explosions in Washington D.C., New York City, and Tampa Bay's McDill Air Force Base, in fact destroying America's political, monetary, and for good symbolic the Southern Command that leads America's hunt of terrorists. There are tens of thousands of bombs in this world, many loose, and only those three needed to completely rewrite our priorities and values of good and bad living as we know it.

The more terrible scenario is not what happens in this life, but what happens to us in the next. God is the only judge of our report card there, but this is truly still a land of opportunity. We all have dozens, if not hundreds of Churches within 100 miles of our home, and no one from government is taking notes when we go and why we go. Church is just a small fraction of our lives, though, and the question becomes whether we are influential or not outside of the safety and privacy of Church walls. Do we live our faith outside, at work, with our friends, and even in traffic? I just ask the question. I leave the answer up to you.

I can't support either Presidential candidate, but I will be voting for Sarah Palin, and McCain's just getting my vote only by being lucky enough to be on her ticket.

But, that's just me.

I think what also needs to be understood by those sitting on the fence in this election is not only are Obama and Biden pro-abortion; Obama when he was an Illinois state senator was the only one to vote against the Born Alive Act. This law which thankfully still passed, required a doctor to provide medical care to a baby born alive after a botched abortion. It's hard to believe that a law like this is even needed in this country. What is even harder to believe is that Obama voted against this. He voted to prevent caring for an infant after somehow miraculously was born alive after an abortionsist tried to kill him or her. This is a man people want to make the required ethically and moral decisions that the President of the United States faces on a daily basis? This is a man who can only say it is "above his pay grade" as to when a human life begins. There is a clear choice in November- McCain-Palin support life and Obama-Biden support death. Make your choice!

Also, the Palins very clearly live their values, and that always resonates with Americans and amounts to a huge plus. While Obama was busy telling his daughters they shouldn't be "punished" with children, Sarah Palin was welcoming a Down's Syndrome baby into life, and evidently was encouraging her unmarried daughter to keep her baby and marry the father. While we can debate the wisdom of a man and a woman so young getting married (though it's a family matter and really none of our business); there's absolutely no denying that the Palins are the real thing through-and-through. I think Sarah Palin will win the hearts of the American people. We haven't had such an unpolitical political candidate in a very, very long time.

Besides their unequivocal defense of abortion as reflected in their speeches and Party platform, Dems also have a radical "gay rights" agenda that, if given enough exposure by the McCain/Palin ticket, will also put a lot of "moderate" voters (esp. Catholics) off. Candidate Obama's intention to repeal the Defense of Marriage Act if elected President should be made a major theme of one of McCain's political ads (if it isn't already). State referendum after State referendum reveals a tremendous repugnance among "traditional" Americans (not the New York City/SanFran/MSM crowd behind this effort) to the notion that "gay marriage" deserves to be given the same status as the divinely ordered union between man and woman. (Same-sex unions are an "intrinsic evil" issue for Catholics, BTW). I hope a question regarding same-sex unions is asked during the Prez and Vice-Prez debates. Watch McCain and Palin shine. Watch Obama and Biden duck and cover.

I'm not much of a prophet but I will make this prediction: 2008 will go down as the year that Catholics won the general election, even though neither McCain nor Palin is Catholic (although I am told that Palin was baptized Catholic, and could return to the Church with some catechesis and the Sacrament of Confirmation). The Republicans are going to ride a groundswell of popular, pro-life support from people who see through Obama's airy (and empty) rhetoric and are tired of the lies from the likes of Planned Parenthood and NARAL.

Most people in this country simply don't like abortion; they've gone along with it for decades, uncomfortably, out of moral ambivalence. But no more. When they see a credible alternative in the person of Sarah Palin, they will support her; and if anyone is uncomfortable about voting a Catholic into office, they needn't be, because neither McCain nor Palin is one. So their status as faithful Protestants could actually be a help, not a hindrance.

Add to all this the fact that John McCain is a war hero, a former POW who is manifestly qualified to be commander-in-chief in a time of war, and a maverick (everyone in America likes a maverick), and you have, in my opinion, a winning ticket. The democrats should be worried because I think we've got them beat this time.
