"...the Platform merely ‘recognizes’ that sex ed, family planning and good health care will have the effect of reducing the need for abortion.”

That's a bald-faced lie. Sex ed and family planning INCREASE the need for abortion. Just track spending on sex ed and family planning, and compare them to the number of abortions, and quod erat demonstratum. Good health care has zero effect on abortions.

“In recent years, the antiabortion movement successfully put the nitty-gritty details of abortion procedures on public display, increasing the belief that abortion is serious business and that some societal involvement is appropriate...."

In other words: Oh noes! Pro-lifers have put the truth on display, and it helps make their case! And we haven't figured out how to make them look like doody-heads for doing so!

"Those who are pro-choice have not convinced America that we support a public discussion of the moral dimensions of abortion,”

Mainly because they don't. It might lead to people realizing that abortion is evil.
