So many of us are repenting and turning back to the Truth. I returned to the Catholic Church at Christmas 2005 after almost a twenty-year soujourn through the deserts of Protestantism and I am still repenting as I encounter one Truth after another regarding my faith. Sometimes I look back in regret over those “lost years” but I know in my heart that I would not be the Catholic I am today if I had not wandered in that dry and dusty land. Like the old adage says, “You never miss the water until the well runs dry!” I ran after mirage after mirage while seeking the Lord with all my heart … and I had Him the whole time in the Eucharist and didn’t even know it or appreciate it!

Looking back, I realize now that I was actually running after a look-alike Christ who would let me practice birth control and have sex before marriage without truly being held accountable, and that is when all the regret floods in.

I love EWTN, Relevant Radio, and Catholic Exchange because they reveal God’s Truth, leaving me to simply accept it or reject it. For years I ran from the Truth … and now I am watching my children run from it … and it’s all because we want to satisfy our own flesh and follow after look-alike gods.
