For a long time I was scared too of the Sacrement of Reconciliation. In fact I went to different churches before comming back to the catholic faith. I now understand why we go to confession and it is to not only be forgiven but to make us humble. Today, I feel that the confession is my favorite sacrement that I try to get to doing at least twice a month.

God gives love and I fail. Man what a love. I need to love more and get over my past failures. I need to trust the confessions I have made. God forgives. God forgives all. God forgives.

Thanks Chris. If we really understood the powerful forgiveness of God... the mercy of His love... the desire of His to set us free... well, for one thing, I'd be busier than Cure of Ars!! I have lost count of the number of people who have directly told me how much of a "weight" was lifted from them after Confession.

Interestly, this was the Sacrament I was most afraid of being a priest at while I was in the seminary. But throughout my service to Him, I have found more joy, personal satisfaction, and peace in this Sacrament than anything other than the Mass.

Remembering that this is the joy of our heavenly Father - to receive His children home - come home... come home... please, come home...
