In this article it makes me wonder. Is our showing the next generation to be vein is fine? That we need to make sacrifices to fit into society instead of thinking about what god wants us to focus on? Are plastic surgeons the modern day idol? What can we do to reverse this and the damage it is having on our society? For now I will pray and reflect. A lot to think about....

I liked the article too. It occurred to me as I was reading it that there are two levels on which parents can give their children the gift of self-esteem. One is through the parents' unconditional love of the child, shown in times of joy, sorrow and even discipline. The other is the parents' own sense of self-worth. We couples owe it to our children to love not only them, but ourselves and each other as God loves us, patiently, for who we are, and who we are becoming. Doesn't that sound like the essence of Joseph and Mary? What a legacy to leave a child!
